Iris

To sail away
On a banana boat
Deliciously yellow
Across the sea
Toward Iris island
Rowing with
Sprigs of chive
Regretting not
Getting the baked potato
Choppy waves
Hide gummy bears
Ready for a banana bite
Still I row
Through a lavender swamp
I am tempted to stay
The fragrance pulls me away
Onward until
I see in the distance
Iris
Delicate with many folds
Deepest purple
Ruffles of mauve
Petals rising to create
A cathedral of color and scent
I have found my home
