Watching for Dragons

When the winds shift
Quixotically, improbably
East to West
North to South
Run to the top of a hill
Climb up the tallest tree
Scale a snowy speak
Watch where the wind
Comes from
There in the Heaving
Of the winds
Hear the roaring of
The dragons
Rolling out of the clouds
Hear the snapping
Back and forth
Of their wings
As they glide on
The currents of
Churning air
Close your eyes
Don’t blind yourself
Staring in sun
As the dragons
Fly past
